You and I were made for relationships.
In fact, to a significant degree, your maturity and sanctification in Jesus depend on the spiritual depth and quality of your relationships with other Christ-followers. We all need regular opportunities to share life, wrestle with the daily implications of what it means to follow Jesus, pray for one another in meaningful ways, and care for the spiritual well-being of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Here are the various ways that Concord creates those opportunities for the men and women in our church family:
Sunday School | Growth Groups
Growth Groups, at its core, is a strategic plan designed to fill the gaps in our scriptural knowledge and provide a more robust understanding of issues critical to our maturity in Christ. Our Growth Group classes meet during the normal Sunday School hour (9:15-10:15 am). Each class runs on either a 6-week or 12-week cycle. Each new cycle is introduced by a church-wide fellowship breakfast on designated Sunday mornings for everyone college-age and up.
Imagine the impact it would have on an individual's spiritual trajectory if he or she were equipped...
- to study the Bible for themselves
- to identify and use their spiritual gifts
- to explain the Gospel to unbelievers
- to resolve conflict in a biblical manner
- to honor God with their money
- to value the gifts of singleness, marriage, and the importance of growing old to the glory of God
SMALL GROUP MINISTRY |
On designated Sunday evenings, Concord meets together in one another's homes to study the word and pray. These gatherings of people are what we call LIFEgroups, and they provide the ideal small group setting to nurture community and encourage one another in the gospel.
There's a place for you! Don't miss out on the beauty and benefits of following Jesus in relationship with other like-minded sojourners. If you would like to be placed in a LIFEgroup that's meeting in your area of town, then please contact Pastor Bill or Pastor David Rainer or contact the church office (423-892-9313).
Men's and Women's Ministries
Unique opportunities for growth occur when men share in community with men, and women with women. Our gender-targeted ministries seek to develop spiritually edifying relationships with the same gender, to encourage biblical manhood and womanhood, and to grow in godliness as husbands and wives, parents and grandparents, friends and workers. With these goals in view, our men’s and women’s leadership teams coordinate book and Bible studies, off-campus small group discipleship, mentoring, and occasional retreats and fellowships. If you would like to learn more about these ministries, contact Pastor David Rainer or the church office (423-892-9313).
