Q60: What help are you given as you wait on Jesus to return?

Answer: The Holy Spirit

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth." (John 14:16-17)

Q61: Who does the Holy Spirit help you?

Answer: He give me the power to say no to sin and yes to righteousness.

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age." (Titus 2:11-12)

Q62: Does it require effort to say no to sin and yes to righteousness?

Answer: Yes. I must work out my salvation as the Spirit works in me.

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." (Philippians 2:12-13)

Q63: What does it mean to work out your salvation?

Answer: To trust God and obey his word.

"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but much more in my absence, workout your own salvation with fear and trembling." (Philippians 2:12)
